Before you on the 10th Zugspitz Extreme and the Nordic welcome discipline, we would like to draw on some very important aspects relating to your participation.
The race takes place in a magnificent natural setting on the Gatterl the Zugspitze, the highest mountain in Germany instead. The 17.9 kilometers long route to the summit is estimated at about 6-8 hours of walking in several walking guides. Takes you through all the alpine vegetation zones and can therefore also in high alpine regions, mountain regions and bring sudden weather changes. Walkers and runners who need to embark on this scenic route, so bring along some mountain experience, sure footedness and freedom from dizziness. The run could therefore be described as high-speed ascent. Short sections are secured with steel cables. Nordic Walker / Runner should be here the sticks in one hand. In accordance with the current weather and the personal needs of each participant shall provide adequate clothing for the whole distance themselves responsible (shoes with cross profile, hats and gloves, etc.). The air temperatures can be very exposed to large fluctuations. Along the way are over 40 operational units of the Mountain Rescue / wakes. There are 4 approved food stops on the route and at the finish. If there are additional needs in food, must also provide each participant himself.
The challenge is not only in athletic competition, but in exchange with the natural conditions, which turn the race into an absolute experience.
Logistical, transport links and related external circumstances could cause impairment and limitations in the process. A high level of organizational effort, as well as restrictions imposed by regulations and the necessary claim to nature conservation can not be many circumstances that you may be accustomed to from other races.
